Dove Sleepover For Self-Esteem

In 2008 Dove came up with a day to celebrate girls and their self-esteem. With the help of YTV and the W channel they are doing it again on May 2nd!

In an age of media manipulation and body image being on the top of girls minds Dove has designed a Campaign for Real Beauty. I'm sure you have seen the commercial for Dove where they take an everyday girl and did her hair and make-up, then taking the final photo and altered the face and neck to make it leaner and longer. We know it's not real but does it make it right? And do our daughters know the difference?

As a part of the Campaign for Real Beauty, this sleepover is a fun way for women and girls to connect and have an open conversation about self-esteem. So grab the popcorn and get your 3 free popular song download. Dove also has a great promotion when you but two Dove products you can get a free pair of PJ bottoms!

The website is a great place to get ideas for the sleepover party, from putting up a " No Put Down Zone" sign, games and self-esteem builders and of course movies on YTV and W channel. Also periodically there will be appearances by Jessica Weiner, Global Ambassador for the Dove Self-Esteem Fund.

The best part of the sleepover is the all the information that is available to discuss body image, boys and things that our girls are interested in. A guide is on hand to help you and your daughter plan the evening out, so she is the host and self-esteem role model but you as the mom are there to help and encourage girl-dynamic evening and a safe zone for them to have fun and be themselves.

Pop some popcorn, make a mud mask and have some fun! Make it a night to remember for you and your daughter!
