The Harsh Reality of Hubby's Job Just Floated Through The Door

Cpl. Mayhem was on duty yesterday so he arrived at home early this morning with the most interesting looking box.

Of course if I told you it was a little blue Tiffany's box you would all be wondering "Girl! What are you complaining about!?"

But alas! That little blue box was not what I saw. Instead a big, brown, metal kit box was waiting at the door alongside my husband.

"What on earth is that?"

My husband gives me his sneaky grin that he always does when he knows what he is about to tell me will make me upset.

"Are those your tans?"

"Yes Vanessa, can I come in?"

"You can! The box stays outside!"

Cpl. Mayhem chuckles at me. "Why baby?"

"Seriously! The box stays outside! It's making me sad!"

The reality of him going overseas just hit me. And it sucks!

Later days!

I can't imagine. I have one brother-in-law who was a US Marine and another who just started his first float with the US Navy. SO GLAD that my hubby chose a nice, boring job as a public servant with the CDN government! He will be posted overseas eventually, but we'll ALL be going.

My husband left August 31st to go overseas. Thankfully there is some great support at the base we are stationed to help me get by. Best of luck and safe wishes to your husband and family!

Oh honey I am so sorry.

My DH lives elsewhere during the week but is home on weekends.

I don't know how military wives take their sweethearts being gone for so long...

hugs to you and your family... may he be safe and sound wherever he is being ordered off to.

on another note, this is from a sits-a!

Sending positive vibes your way, for a safe-and seemingly short, at least-deployment! SITS sent me by, and I'm glad they did. Happy Saturday Sharefest!

My fiance is on his way to Iraq, I would love to be planning a wedding, instead I'm planning for the last time I'll see him before he leaves. It' hard but I can only hope it gets better!

My hubbs is in the Marine Corps, and I absolutely dread the day he comes home with those deployment orders. *sigh* I know it's inevitable because he's only a year in and has four more to go and it kills me to think about. Stay positive hun!
