Hostility Clothing Review

You all remember my gal Sarah!! Well she came back from Afghanistan for her HLTA (home leave) for the holidays so when I got a hold of my Hostility clothing products, I wanted her for my model!
She is everything military!!

We looked at the clothes and the first thing she said that this clothing line would totally geared towards her buds overseas.

But we also saw this cute top and I immediately told her that the top screamed her! Am I right? Sarah is wearing what Hostility clothing calls Envious Girl, umm yeah!! Look at my pretty lady!

Hostility Clothing is an extreme sports-based lifestyle clothing line that combines edgy, original designs with affordable comfort. When I went to their website my first instincts was geared towards the extremist. BMXers, Motor cross and skateboarders.

What I loved was that their clothing was limited edition selections, because who wants to have the same thing as the next guy?

My husband tried the shirts out and he liked them. They were comfy and he did like one in particular. He agreed with Sarah that there are going to be soldiers who would love the edgy look to their clothing line.

The clothing line is pretty cool stuff, right now Cpl. Mayhem is sporting the shirt Shellshock 2 Tee.

They have everything from t-shirts, tank tops, hats, panties (yes, they do!). Reasonably priced and nice quality!

They also have a Facebook page to check out!

Hostility Clothing is also giving 15% off your next purchase when you use the code: MILITARY SUP.

A great addition for a care package or a welcome home gift!

Thumbs up!!

What Has Gone Down In The Mayhem Household!

Way too much to recount!!

We had Auntie Mayhem over for the holidays which was a great treat for the kids! They had a great time jumping on her and getting as much attention that they could from her!

We enjoyed watching the kids unwrap presents especially Chicky. This is the year that she kind of gets Christmas but doesn't. So when it was her turn to open something she watched her brother than looks at the adults with this look of "I still don't get it!".

Once she got the hang of it, my parents were able to Skype with us and watch the kiddies have some fun!

After the Christmas unwrapping we went over to my gal pal's place for dinner where she made enough food to feed the base!! It was yummy and we left there full, happy and exhausted!! The kids had a blast playing with their two boys and it was a Christmas just the way we wanted it to be. Relaxed!

And of course, Chicky's birthday was two days after Christmas (sorry!). So we had some friends over and enjoyed some cake that I lovingly put together! Some fun with the kids and sugar and we had a house full of giggles and a torn up bedroom! Which was fine since Ducky convinced me that his room didn't need cleaning prior to the party because it was going to get messy all over again. Point for Ducky.

Once the party was over though we went to look at the damage and his table had been flipped over, to which he said, "Don't worry mom, I'll clean it!" rolling his eyes with such length and drama which made me conclude that this move is hereditary! Once I pointed out I wasn't going to clean the room he said yes than realized what he was saying yes to. Point mom!

All in all it was a great holiday vacation and our plans for New Year Eve is to relax and stay in! It seems to be one of the only holiday where Cpl. Mayhem has been home for every year. Once the holidays are officially over Cpl. Mayhem will be in California training for Afghanistan, booo!

So I'm enjoying every minute!!

MOMVERSATION MONDAY!!: Memories Of Momversation pt. 2

Alright ladies and gentleman it's Momversation Monday ( OK so it's Tuesday but for some reason I won't able to upload it).

But this is the best memories of Momversation pt. 2 you can find Momversation Memories part 1 here.

Some of my favorite Momversations have had Dana Loesch in them. I loved her sense of humor and her strong points of view. Especially the guilty pleasure episode, and the girl's night out episode!

I also love Mindy Roberts wanting to explain about conception to her kids in this episode.

I love the one that I was on, they wanted opinions of the viewers and I got my face on one of the episodes, it wasn't long but I was there!

Any episode that had a little controversy, various opinions and strong belief systems from the panel made for great episodes. I love listening to real women discuss real life mom topics, from circumcising to flu shots.

There were also some very funny episodes, every one on the panel have their funny moments, which makes the episodes real. I'm a big fan of anyone who can lighten the mood of a very hard hitting topic.

I loved the men of Momversation putting their two cents in on whatever the topic was! They were great! Hand them the cameras again!!

Momversation has become a great part of my Internet time!!

All I Want For Christmas...

Dear Santa,

I know you are a very busy man, but I wanted to get my letter to you in before you take off on Christmas Eve to do you deliveries.

I don't ask for much...

The Victoria Secret sweater is just too cute to pass up. With six different ways to wear it, why not?

Plus I would love to have the Victoria Secret flannel shorts,

And of course the flannel top!

I would definitely love to improve my photography skills with a course from the New York Institute of Photography!

And a lovely addition to my photos the Canon Speedlite 430EX II

Thank you!!

MOMVERSATION MONDAY: Life Choices: What Would You Be Doing if You Weren't a Mom?

So Momversation Monday is kind of late. I'm sorry, I've been busy with Christmas!

Lets get started shall we? Rebecca Woolf of Girl's Gone Child asks, "What would you be doing right now if you weren't a mom?".

Let me tell you, I have no idea what I would be doing if I weren't a mom. After college I thought I would get hired to a local radio station or TV station and be working in media.

I would have liked to dabble in photography, or maybe try my hand at massage therapy.

If I was talking to younger me, before I had kids, my younger self wouldn't have had an answer. However, older me would have some great suggestions now.

For example, like I said above, photography or massage therapy. But I now enjoy baking or writing, or even the idea of travelling (especially since that is limited to traveling to the grocery store).

What about you? If you didn't have kids, what would you be doing now?

A Great Email From Aunt Lynn

REMEMBER
THIS AT CHRISTMAS TIME

According to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, while both male and female reindeer grow antlers in the summer each year, male reindeer drop their antlers at the beginning of winter, usually late November to mid-December.

Female reindeer retain their antlers till after they give birth in the spring.

Therefore, according to EVERY historical rendition depicting Santa's reindeer, EVERY single one of them, from Rudolph to Blitzen, had to be a girl.

We should've known…...

ONLY women would be able to drag a fat-ass man in a red velvet suit all around the world in one night and not get lost.

Thank you Lynn for the email!!

OH Christmas Tree, I Feel Sorry For Thee...

We finally got the Christmas tree up!! I've been wanting to get that decorated forever and now it's in our living room! We don't have many ornaments and we definitely need a tree skirt but it looks great to me!

We'll be off getting the last minute decorations up. Stockings, a center piece for the table. I've finally managed to convince hubby to decorate the outside too!

It will be a great shopping day! Not only that we're getting some groceries which is my favorite part of shopping.

I really want to make our Christmas dinner special. So I decided to make some holiday favorites and and some specials from Brazil, where I'm from.

So the plan is make a Turkey, with mashed potatoes and carrots, gravy. But I'll also be making Pao de Queijo (cheese bread) and maybe some Brigadeiros for dessert. It's a popular chocolate fudge dessert that are a staple at children's parties. YUM-O!!

I feel terribly sorry for our tree, I have a feeling that it's going to come crashing down before Santa is even able to get presents under it. Ducky and Chicky haven't given the poor thing a moment to breath, someone is crawling under it, or taking the ornaments off it's branches. I won't be surprised if it ran out of our house in the middle of the night!

Before I take off for the night here's a quick photo of Cpl. Mayhem and Chicky dancing to Christmas music.

Lets Not Kill the Holiday Spirit with Spirits...

The holiday season is known for spending time with family and friends. Holiday parties and of course drinking.

I don't want to put a damper on your Christmas cheer, but many of us want to be there for next Christmas as well. So if you decide to drink and drive, it's not okay in my book. Here's my reason.

On September 1oth, Emily Watts was stopped on Laurentian Drive at 10:15 p.m., waiting to make a turn, when an eastbound Ford SUV collided with the Honda, causing it to burst into flames incinerating the back half of the compact car. She was stopped to turn into her parents driveway.

She was only seventeen years old. He parents saw it happen.

I did not know her, but in my community she was loved by many and remembered by all! A tragedy that could have been prevented by the driver not getting in her car and driving drunk that night.

How many of these young lives do we need to lose before people get it?

So before even starting your Seasonal fun fest, stop and think about what your plans will be before you leave your door.

  • if you are going to a party or a club and know when you are leaving, book a cab so you don't have to worry about waiting for one.
  • if you are hosting the party, take all the car keys from your guests.
  • serve non alcoholic drinks at your party
  • prepare for guests to stay over
  • call a friend
  • plan on having some cab fare when you leave
  • have a designated driver
  • if you know that someone has been drinking don't hesitate to report it! You can be anonymous but it's better do something than nothing at all.
  • Use the "Operation Red Nose" program or whatever program that is available in your town

Lets not have another untimely death like Emily's during the holiday season, or anytime for that matter.

Don't drink and drive.

Ducky's Junior Kindergarten Christmas Concert

Ducky had his Christmas concert tonight and although previous concerts were in my mind I was hopeful that he would at least sing or not look like the other kids were bugging him.
I was wonderfully surprised to get some great photos of him AND he sang!!!

My cute little Shepherd boy!
Plus I was able to get a photo of his self portrait. I wonder where the glasses came from?

MOMVERSATION MONDAY: Co-Parent: Did You Pick the Right Mate?

It's Monday ladies and gentlemen!! Another installment of Momversation Monday!

One this episode Mindy Roberts of The Mommy Blog brings up a great question! Did you pick the right person to co-parent your children?

Cpl. Mayhem is a great father! He actually had more experience with children than I did! He's patient, he listens and he he loves to get down with the kids and play.

Of course he has faults, I do too, and I'm sure you and your partner have faults as well. We are human! His biggest is his guilt, though I'm sure I could say his love for his video game could be on the top of that list too. He feels terribly guilty when he is away for long periods of time. So he tends to give in a lot more than when he has been home longer. Which is hard when I say no and the kids go to dad and they get what they want. We're working on it...

A lot of people doubted his parental skills, but he is really good. When we had Ducky and I had my C-section, Cpl. Mayhem would get up with Ducky and change him and get him all ready for his feeding and once he was done, hubby would put him back to sleep. He was extremely helpful with everything, especially while I went through my post partum depression.

Let's think about this. I've been on two trips that lasted longer than 3 days. Every time I've come home, the house was clean, the kids were breathing and they looked happy! Granted both times he was happy to have me back, which is nice to hear every once in a while, but I know he is very capable to caring for his children.
We are a united front for the big things. We discuss and we are flexible to the others parenting style, but are still united.
We are each others support system. I couldn't ask for a better co-parent!

The Twilight Addiction...

Tonight I went to see the Twilight Saga: New Moon. I had seen the first movie but I didn't get why people were so obsessed with the books. I don't think I got it at the time. So when my friend asked me if I wanted to go see the second installment, I was glad to get out of the house. But I had heard about all the excitement for the movie and the mixed reviews that I thought, I need to see what the hype is all about.

The movie was good! The acting wasn't Oscar worthy but it was good enough to keep my interest. The story was really good too! Good enough that after the movie was over I wanted to read the third book to find out what happens next. By the way, thanks to my gal pal for loaning me her book so I can catch up on the frenzy! But of course going to this movie entailed having to deal with the "Taylor Tots" and let me tell you! Yes, he does take off his shirt, but damn! I was embarrassed for the male viewing public! The poor guys who were more than likely dragged to see it to begin with had to endure a pack of women hooting and hollering at at the screen all because some guy ripped off his shirt. Maybe to the little girls that was exciting but to me their was only one thing that was going through my mind.....

Jail bait!

I was very impressed by the movie, the action sequences was captivating enough for the poor boyfriends to keep their attention long enough while the girlfriends swoon over the love triangle between the characters!

All in all I will say it's a go see for those who haven't seen it. For those who have, you were right!!

Later days!

Christmas Activities Continue!!!

As the Christmas season starts to swing into the Mayhem household we've been doing some of the Mayhem family traditions.

One of the big ones is gingerbread decorating. We bought the gingerbread house but I had forgotten that I had purchased gingerbread men from my neighbour. So we're having an extravaganza!!

Ducky had a blast decorating his gingerbread man, Chicky wasn't too sure what we were doing but as you can see she got in the idea pretty quickly!

They had a fun afternoon and we can't wait to pull out the gingerbread house and do it all over again!!
