Hardest Age to Raise A Child? A Great Topic!

A friend of mine posted on her Facebook that she was finding it harder to parent her oldest child  as she gets older and how it was easier to care for baby. You know, my kids are not at her oldest age group but it did make me want to pose the question.

What was the hardest age to deal with so far?

Mind you that my children are 2 and almost 5 but I find it facinating that every person who has spoken to me about their child has told me that they had an age that they wished they could never go back to.

With Ducky I found his toddler stage was the worst for me. He wouldn't listen to me, he took fits every 15 minutes and he stopped napping at 18 months and not sleeping at night. He wanted to be picked up, put down, picked up, go here, there, here, there. I was exausted! I'm hoping to skip this phase with Chicky but I have a feeling that she's just around that corner.

My mom has told me that the teenage years were her challenge. This was the time that she was practically at her restaurant 24/7 and it was hard to be there for us when she was working. We were teengers, we ignored the rules.

I think each child is different. I was surprised by the difference between my two children, it wasn't a huge difference but they was one. I was so jealous of a girlfriend of mine who said she had to wake her infant up to feed! But then I thank the stars that my kids were nowhere close to some kids that I grew up with (terrors!).

Infants or adults (kids still living at home? Don't want to grow up?). What was the worst parenting moment for you?

Thanks Katie for the topic! It really got me thinking!

I admit-I may not have kids but I was a good kid- a brat teenager and then turned into a good kid again....
My Mom would BEAT ME if I did anything to embarrass her or look like we didn't mind.
She put the fear into us like you wouldn't believe...then in my teenage years: I was just a brat. Then I went to respecting her and all she went through raising 7 of us. alone. She is the BOMB and I applaud her. She had NO flippin' time for ill-mannered brats.
She took no cra* off us!
