I decided to think of some of the positives of military life, maybe I then I could sleep.
I came up with so many.
- The base I live on you are close to everything including my son's school so it's a quick walk during the nice weather.
- There is a new park that the kids love to play in and a water (wading pool) park was also put near Ducky's school. We are going to be spending a lot of time out of the house this summer!
- The summer camp is a short walk away from our house and Ducky really enjoyed doing that last year!
- There are aerobic classes where that summer camp is held. $2 a class if you have kids, no problem, while you workout it costs you $1 for them to be cared for at their childcare. I KNOW!! There are no excuses for me not to workout at this point!
- They have a program called the Deployment R&R where once a month if your spouse is away on training or tour and you need an afternoon during the weekend, your kids can be watched for free.
- I got someone from the base to plow my driveway when there is a big snow fall. Cpl. Mayhem doesn't know that- it was my birthday present to me!
- My son's birthday is being held where the summer camp is and all I have to do is show up, have fun at Ducky's birthday party and leave! They provide everything for you, lunch, cake, party favors, two people to help watch the child and all I pay is $150. That's not bad at all, especially since I payed double that to do the same thing last on my own AND I didn't get to enjoy myself.

5 witnessing the mayhem:
Those are great - and best yet, finding the silver lining is so important. I think there are always problems in life but there are always things you can be grateful for too.
I'm going to make this kind of list today and thank you for reminding me to do it!

Sounds like a great area!
I agree, overall I like my military life. Job security, beny's, and all the programs for families are awesome.
I'm new at the Army wife thing my husband and I got married in October we've been best friends for years though he just signed up for the army and he's going to boot camp in March were both very excited about this I was a little worried because I don't want him to deploy but thiers so many helpful wives out there. I can't wait till we have kids and were able to do fun stuff like that on base.
