But first let's talk about Monday's show- after the Red Carpet:
Heated debate over the "Blind Side". Vanessa Williams was on and she mentioned that the movie brings on the theme of a white family who saves a black boy from poverty. I was a little hurt by that. Because in this day and age,we should be able to help a child be it black, white, brown or purple (yes, I said it!), without it being a made into a "saving the whole race" movement. We adopt to help a child have better life and a family, take them out of a broken foster care system or orphanage, we not looking for praise or awards.
Today was an interesting during the Hot Topics, especially with Lindsay Lohan's new lawsuit against E*Trade and their commercial of the baby mentioning a "milkaholic Lindsay". She claims she has a very recognizable name like Cher and Madonna and it was a blatant stab at her image. I just think the babies are cute!
They also spoke about the Bachelor and I"m not going to get into it because everyone else has spoken about and I'm tired of them! I'm sorry, I am!
They also talked about the history of the menstruation. OK, men, this is where you can scroll down a couple of sentences.
Who knew that cramps were a good thing!?
I'm horrified that there was and still is such a stigma towards a woman's cycle. In 1912 the New York Times had an editorial about how women shouldn't be able to vote because of their periods, making them unstable to make rational decisions. Really?
Even the advetising hasn't changed much for it. In the beginning of advertising they would blame all your problems on a woman's period and how their problems will be solved. Now, it's this idea that everything is going to be sunshine and roses when you are on your period. A guy must have written them!
Andy Garcia and his daughter Dominik Garcia-Lorido talk about their movie "City Island". They talked abou the awkward it was to have your dad on set while doing scenes where she plays an exotic dancer. The movies is about family and the secrets families keep. It looks amazing, I would love to go see that!
Tons more to come!!!
