MOMVERSATION MONDAY!!: Do You Find Time To Exercise?

Good Morning everyone!!
Hope you had a great a weekend!

Let jump on into this Momversation topic shall we?

Jessica Gottlieb of jessicagottlieb.com brings up a topic that most mom want to do but never seem to have the time for.
Exercise!

UGHH! It's like the team at Momversation wanted to give me a reminder of what I have to do today.

I'm a big supporter of exercise but I'd rather be cheering about it from the sidelines.

I know exercise is important and blah, blah, blah. But the motivation was lacking especially before Cpl. Mayhem left. The next time I see him will be in September so I want to get into shape for our vacation and just surprise him.

I'm just like Alice of Finslippy when it comes to excuses. I've used the "I can't find my shoes" to "the kids are sick" and many other excuses I could come up with.

I got every workout DVD available, I have a treadmill, weights and enough music on my iPod to complete an entire marathon but I couldn't do it.
Then it hit me. I could have all the equipment in the world in my basement but if I'm not ready to make a change I could be doing my "I'll start it on Monday" dance every Monday.

My biggest problem when it comes to exercise is that I felt like I had to take away time from doing something else to get my workout in. I couldn't do it when my kids were around because they are just plain distracting and get into everything they shouldn't when I'm downstairs. So I plan on getting it done during the time that the kids are asleep because let's face it. There is nothing more sad than watching The Biggest Loser and eating knowing full well I should be working out.

Evenings are my best bet. No interruptions. It's not a time Cpl. Mayhem tries to reach me and lets be honest here. I love my TV but it's time to cut back some (OK, it's rerun season who am I kidding).

I'm ready for it now, I have no more excuses and I have something I love to do which helps.

What's your best excuse for not working out?

Probably money for a gym membership is my excuse and the kids...I'd have to have them watched so I could workout in the morning (because that's the only time I can find motivation to do it). I do really think that if I had an elliptical I would do that daily. Mainly because I love them and it's worked in the past and I can watch tv while I do it. Someday!!

Life is my excuse! It seems like I am busy 24/7! I always tell myself that I should be doing homework or housework, but in all reality, I could go for a run. Like now, usually I would be running, but have tons of homework, so I didn't go. And what am I doing instead? Checking out blogs and facebook! Is my homework getting done? Not right now!

Thanks so much for sharing the video, but I have to add something that they cut out.

I exercise every day because I'm a huge pill when I don't. When I get cranky my kids look at me and say, "Mom, why don't you go for a run?"

Nothing else in my life goes smoothly if I don't move my body first... oh and also I love the taco truck, and I'd be 300 pounds if I didn't walk or run there.
