Momversation Monday ladies and gentleman! And what a topic!
Dana Loesch of Mamalogues gets the conversation started about kids and God. What do your kids think about God?
First of all my husband and his parents are Mormon, my family is all over the map when it comes to religions. As for myself I'm down with G-O-D. I went to Catholic school, learned about other religions including my husband's but none of them jumped out at me, none of them made me want to take the plunge (get it!). At this point in my life I'm a "Christeaster", you can find me at a church during Christmas and Easter.
Bad jokes aside, I'm a free spirit and quite relaxed when the topic comes up, but it's not like I've sat down with them and had the God Q&A. I'm sure if we were to go to church more often the topic would have brought up much easier. At this point I would consider it completely random for one of them to come up to me and ask about God.
My kids have both been to church and my son is in a Catholic school where they do religious studies. God hasn't really come up in conversation except for night time prayer. And not one of them as asked me "Who is this person we keep talking to at night?".
So at this point I'm going with what my son brings to me. And I have a visual:
This is the photo Ducky came home with one day after school. It says "If Jesus came to my house, he would look like brown hair, he is wearing a dress, and we would play with my Bakugans".
Have you had the God talk with your kids?

2 witnessing the mayhem:
well you obviously know our religious views seeing as our husbands were friends through church! Our kids (well Ethan especially) does know about God and Christ and really enjoys going to sunday school. He hasn't really asked too many questions yet but I am sure he will!
Hi Vanessa! Thanks for stopping by Perfectly Disheveled! Love your blog. Have a great weekend!
