On A Countdown Day 43: Remembering Our Soldiers

10 Day till Remembrance Day (Canada), Veterans Day (US)
43 Days till Cpl. Mayhem comes home
54 Days till Christmas

So many things to look forward to!

Of course the countdown to Cpl. Mayhem's return is only an estimate. I know better than to set it in stone!
But for the next 43 days I will be documenting the tasks that I want to have done before Cpl. Mayhem comes home.

I needed to talk to everyone about the next holiday that is coming up. AND NO IT'S NOT CHRISTMAS! I know the US still has their Thanksgiving to do. But all those Canadians who have put your Halloween decorations away and are already thinking of putting up Christmas lights. STOP!
Today Day 43 is all about Remembrance Day (Canada) and Veterans Day (US)
Remembrance Day is 10 days away and if you might have already noticed some stores already have jumped to get the Christmas gear up. I wish we would spend more time focusing on this holiday as much as we spend on Halloween and other holidays.

Why not this year put up something that represents Remembrance Day? Wear the poppy proudly. Attend a local Remembrance Day ceremony. Change your profile picture to a poppy or something to commemorate Remembrance Day or Veterans Day.

We Salute Our Heroes | In Honour of Our Fallen Canadian Soldiers

Check out We Salute Our Heroes website. In honour of our Canadian soldiers. The website launched yesterday with a great song called “Standing Strong and True”. You can donate to The Military Families Fund and Boomer's Legacy.

This year Remembrance Day takes on a different meaning for our family with Cpl. Mayhem overseas. No only that we have lost some amazing friends during this tour and other tours before.

Take a moment this Remembrance Day and Veterans to pay respects to the soldiers fighting and the ones coming back home. Take a moment to pay respects to the soldier we have lost.

Love the new blog layout. I have started with the Christmas but it's not without remembering Rememberance Day. When I see the vets with the poppy stands I think of those overseas. My mum works at the veterans building so it's always a big deal. Even Clara proudly wore a poppy at church on Sunday (in a headband form!). Hope you're hanging in there! ps we need to chat soon!

I think our husbands come home right around the same time! How neat. :) I don't have a date...I have a "latest possible" date...which is mid-December, so anytime between now & then! :)

Maegan- He's told me mid December but at this point nothing is set in stone.

Good luck to you!

Lol...Well, I think technically it's the same...but since Block Leave has already been approved, I would guess they DO know when the guys will be home, but they aren't going to say anything & risk being wrong. :) We'll be heading to FL (home!) for our Christmas. OMG I love me a decorated palm tree!! :D
