Momversation Monday: Who's in Your Tribe?
Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!!
Today's Momversation is all about Tribes. Leslie Gail of Newlifefocus.com mentions a blogger who wrote a suicide note on her blog and how this blogger had this support group of followers and friends who got in contact with her and the blogger is now in treatment.
My tribe is very small. I have a close group of friends who I know would be there for me if I needed anything. But most of my friends are back in my hometown and it's hard to keep friends on a base.
During Cpl. Mayhem's deployment I did get together with other wives who were going through deployment and have pot lucks and hang out but once the men were home that seem to fizzle out.
My main support group now are military wives online, through my blog and through their blogs. We go through the same things, getting advice from each other and comforting each other when we are down. But I do miss having real world friends.
I lost my best friend to a posting and I'm losing another one in July. And it sucks!
Everyone needs a tribe, I don't believe it has to be a large one, it just has to be one that will have your back and be there when you need it and you can be there for them.
Who is in your tribe?

Random Thoughts...
- I love that my kids think Caillou is a brat! It's too bad that they don't realize that they act just like the annoying cartoon when they take a fit!
- A friend and I went out for dinner and we waited FORVER to be served so I found a photo that I think would have said exactly what we were thinking!
- While watching the Federal Election Debates, all I could see were kids in business suits tattle tailing on each other. It was amusing!
- Ducky used to put stickers on Chicky when she was a baby and I guess that stuck:
- Does LEGO multiply? Because it seems like no matter how many time the kids put the LEGO away their is always seems to be some in very weird places. Like the bathroom and master bedroom.
- Some people just drive me insane! I was trying to get into the Shoppers Drug Mart this afternoon and some idiot with no sense of direction was trying to leave through the entrance! I was so pissed! Not to mention the other car who almost slammed into the ditz. Learn to read!
- Found some really nice dresses I want to get but I'm waiting for my cruise. Here's one of them:
- Finally found some really nice photo albums this last week and I'm looking forward to going through my old boxes of photos and get them out of the boxes and into the albums where they belong!
- People need to pick up their dog crap! There is nothing better than walking on the sidewalk and having your 3 year old freak out because she stepped in poop!
- Really enjoying having Cpl. Mayhem at home, but I really wish that he could be done with all the courses and trainings.
- Chicky is officially done with diapers!! She been done for a while now but we still use a pull-up at the end of the night and for very long trips. So proud of her!
- Ducky's speech therapy has been going so well that the therapist told me she will be releasing him at the end of the school year! WOOHOO!!

Momversation Monday: Do You Edit Your Music Choices in Front of Your Kids?
How is everyone today? The weekend was amazing and I'm so upset it's over!
But on the bright side another episode of Momversation Monday!!
And this Momversation is something we moms deal with on a daily basis. Music.
I love my music! But I'm not a huge fan of my kids! There is only so many times I can listen to the Imagination Movers and Mickey Mouse.
For the most part my kids don't really pay attention to the lyrics of my songs. They both enjoy dancing to the beat of the music more. But I'm sure as they get older they are going to notice the lyrics. I have made a playlist with the clean version of my songs and I some of the songs we like have versions that kids sing to which works as well.
I know it will be hard to shield the kids from all music lyrics, but while they are at the age where I can still control what they hear, I'm going to make the effort to keep it as PG as possible.
OH! And the music videos as one of the moms mentioned are unheard of in my house!
Where do you stand on editing your music choices?

Feel Good Blogs: Everyone Needs A Little Happy
During a really bad day all I want is to have something make me smile. And I found the Feel Good Blogs.
A website comprised of three websites showing various feel good moments that makes life worth living for!
The first website that was launched was Welcome Home Blog.

Welcome Home Blog captures the excitement and anticipation of soldiers coming home to surprise their families. Some the videos are amazing to watch and some really get creative. Here's two of my favorites.
Next of the Feel Good Blogs is Ring on the Finger.
Surprise engagements caught on video! These are so much fun to watch and it amazes me how creative some of the guys get!! Here are my two favourites.
And finally the newest of the Feel Good Blogs, Mother Glow.

These videos are so cute! Expecting parents telling their families that they are expecting! Makes me wish I had done something like it! Here are my two I love the most!
Backstory on this one: The husband IS a doctor and had no idea what he was looking at, which makes it even funnier!
This one is cute because the sister has been asking for a baby for a while, and didn't look the whole card that read "Aunt Alexis".
And this one just give me hope for all the couples who are trying to have a baby. This couple is so happy after years of trying and fertility treatments they are finally pregnant!
Check these sites out, you just can't help but smile!
Later days!

The Secret To a Good April Fool's Day Prank
Over the past couple of year I haven't been able to pull off a great April Fool's Day Joke.
Not for lack of trying, being away from the people who I'm comfortable playing a prank on and the fact that so many people post on Facebook their jokes, it's hard to be creative.
I started my April Fool's day joke by first looking to see what was already posted on Facebook. I've seen a couple of engagements, divorce announcements and the typical pregnancy announcements. All far-fetched if you know the person well enough.
So I started the groundwork for my joke. I kept it simple and realistic.
I wait a while and then comment after comment started to come in:
Then the phone calls started to come in! Auntie Mayhem was the first. When I answered she started to hyperventilate and laugh at the same time. When I finally told her that it wasn't true, I'm sure she was breathing through a paper bag!
So after about an hour or so I let everyone know what was up:

I have to say, I need to plan a better one for next year but I sure did get a good laugh!

What We've Been Up To?
With Cpl. Mayhem back at work. We've all been going through a rough patch of getting back into the normal life routine.
So here's the photo version of what has happened over the past couple of weeks.
So here's the photo version of what has happened over the past couple of weeks.
I've been playing with my camera again.
We went to the Welcome Home Ceremony for the troops
Where Ducky did what he does best. Climb on stuff!
I got a new purse! It was much needed!
Crazy days and Chicky's out cold!
We've been having some family game nights.
The kids LOVE UNO!
I've been cooking more and this stew is one of my favourites!
A post is not complete without the kids photo!
More to come!
