Do you have this problem at home? The kids come home from school and when they take their shows off half of the sandbox poured into your front steps?

I feel like I could sweep up enough sand to make my own sandbox in my backyard!

Why do schools still use sand?! It's messy and hard to clean. Not only that animals use as their personal bathroom and whatever else happens in there that I can't even dare to think of.

The base here now started using a recycled tire material instead of sand and every parent I've spoken to  believes it's such a better solution than sand.
Their shoes are eaten away by the sand and don't get me started on their socks too! But the part that bugs me the most is the amount of sand that comes into my front steps even after the shoes have dumped outside. I'm amazed that Ducky and Chicky can walk home with the amount they carry back and forth.

I'm really hoping the new school will introduce the recycled tire. It's soft safe and it's not coming home with me at the end of the day! Oh to dream!
